Accessibility by people with visual impairments and other disabilities is built into Digital Fife.
Features such as screenreader compatibility, user control of font size and contrast, the facility to read aloud pages and automatic translation ensure Digital Fife websites can be used by all.
Digital Fife websites consistently score highly on internationally recognised accessibility tests.
All our Home-Start volunteers must be a parent or have parenting experience.
Before being matched to a family all our volunteers attend a preparation course, we do a PVG check and take up references. The preparation course is informal, there are no exams and its about us getting to know you and making sure you have all the relevant information about Home-Start.
Topics included on the preparation course include -

Values & Attitudes
Listening & Communication
Supporting Parents
Meeting the Needs of Children
Protecting & Safeguarding Children & Vulnerable Adults
Confidentiality
The course is a mixture of online learning in your own time with four short face-to-face group sessions.
If you don't have access to a computer/tablet please don't let that put you off!
