If you know a family who would benefit from Home-Start support - you should:

• Establish that the family has at least one child under eight and lives in the Kirkcaldy, Kinghorn, Burntisland or Cardenden area.
• Discuss Home-Start with the family - they MUST agree to the referral to Home-Start being made.
• Feel free to contact us and we can give you an idea of our volunteer situation, our waiting list and other agencies who might also be able to help the family.
• Complete a referral form, this can be downloaded here.

Once we receive the referral we will:

• Set up an initial visit with the family at their home to tell them all about Home-Start and discuss their needs.
• If the family agree to go ahead with home-visiting support, we carefully match the skills and experiences of a volunteer to the needs of the family. (This may take time and if a suitable match cannot be made then you will be informed).
• If the family want to come to our Family Group or Baby Bookbug, they can come along to the next session (there is no waiting list)
• Let you know when Home-Start support starts and ends.
